SheRACES is a global network of champions driving change to support female athletes. Founded by Sophie Power ultrarunner, trustee of Women in Sport, and mother of 3 with an aim to get more women on start lines.
SheRACES wanted to launch a campaign for International Women’s Day that challenged brands and sponsors to ensure the races they work with are inclusive to women, and to help remove the barriers women face towards participation.
The campaign flipped the tagline provided by IWD #inspireinclusion to #enableinclusion. The team at SheRACES were tired of seeing inspirational campaigns for International Women’s Day. Despite making women dream of what they could achieve, fudamentally the barriers that prevent women being on start lines are still there. SheRACES believe in order to create real change races and brands need to enable not inspire!
Using illustrated imagery of women blasting through barriers, women being provided with kit that fits, and encouraging races to invest in women’s equality, we created a bold and powerful campaign that really resonated with the trail running community across Europe.


We’re tired of being inspired.
Listening to stories of women who’ve faced barriers and strived to climb over them.
Through sacrifice, hard work, relentlessness.
It makes us dream and hope and wonder.
But we can’t all climb over those barriers.
We’re exhausted with having to face them at all.
We need support. A leg up. A rope to climb.
But what if those barriers weren’t there at all? What could we achieve then?
We are talking to you brands & sponsors!
Rather than inspiring our inclusion this International Women’s Day, enable us instead!
